Meals

Meals helps your assistant plan, cook, shop, and remember what worked.

With Fluent connected, the assistant can use your household preferences, recipes, kitchen inventory, weekly plans, grocery lists, and meal feedback instead of starting from scratch every time.

What Meals Knows

  • dietary restrictions, household size, cooking style, and cuisines
  • weekly meal plans
  • recipes you save or adjust
  • kitchen inventory and pantry notes
  • grocery plans tied to real meal plans
  • feedback on meals you liked, skipped, or want to change next time

What You Can Ask

Start with a real week:

"Plan dinners for next week and turn the plan into a grocery list I can actually shop from."

Other useful asks:

  • "What do we need to buy for this week's plan?"
  • "Pull up tonight's recipe."
  • "Replace Thursday's dinner with something faster."
  • "I just bought milk and eggs. Update my inventory."
  • "That stir fry was great. Keep it in rotation."

The Planning Loop

Meals works best as a full loop:

  1. read your saved preferences and current kitchen state
  2. generate a candidate plan
  3. review and adjust it with your assistant
  4. accept the plan
  5. generate the grocery list
  6. update pantry, purchase, inventory, or feedback after real-world use

You do not need a perfect setup before starting. One useful week gives Fluent better memory for the next one.

Grocery Lists And Inventory

Fluent can generate grocery plans from an accepted meal plan and reconcile them against inventory. It can also help prepare an order-ready list for use outside Fluent.

Fluent does not complete retailer checkout inside ChatGPT. Payment and order submission stay outside the assistant.

Recipes

Fluent can store recipes, pull them into plans, update them when your habits change, and show them through text or richer views when a host supports that.

First-Time Setup

Meals setup is intentionally small. The assistant may ask for:

  • household size
  • dietary restrictions
  • strong dislikes
  • planning cadence
  • pantry basics
  • grocery expectations

The goal is not to configure everything forever. It is to give Fluent enough structure to stop guessing.

Training-Aware Planning

When Health is also active, Meals can use a high-level training summary to make meal planning more practical around harder or lighter training days. Health owns the training structure; Meals owns the food execution.
